What is the Weston Wood Bicycling Award?
Who is giving this money away and why?
What is the Weston Wood Bicycling Award?
It is a GIFT of up to $700 for a bicycle tour or event of your choice.
Who is giving this money away and why?
The fund from which this money is drawn was established in 1992 as a
memorial to Weston Wood by his family and many friends, under the sponsorship of
the Dane County Bicycle Association. An Assistant Attorney General of the
State of Wisconsin for more than 30 years, Wood was also an avid bicycle tourist
who continually encouraged and inspired newcomers to the sport. The fund
is meant to continue his legacy of support for bicycle touring by offering one
award each year to someone who would otherwise be unlikely or unable to
participate in such an adventure.
